Daily JPG 131

It is SO hard to photograph sunrises, sunsets, and moonscapes, at least with a digital camera. To get this photo to approximate the real sunset, I Photoshopped in a warm red photo filter and tweaked the contrast a bit; this brought the foreground of sagebrush into focus and strengthened the colors in the sky. The problem is that this exaggerated the sun’s “halo” more than I would have preferred, but I was happy to make that sacrifice to bring the colors out.

I took this picture out near Celebration Park and Swan Falls Dam on a trail leading to a scenic overlook.
