In Your Pants

The only vlog I watch – and I love it – is Brotherhood 2.0, by two brilliant and crush-worthy writer guys. (As my husband will attest, I’m a sucker for scrawny pale nerd-fighter guys.)

In this part of the country, one reads fortune cookies aloud and adds “in bed” or “between the sheets” to the end, so that you end up with “You will meet a tall, dark, handsome stranger in bed.” Well, on Brotherhood 2.0, you do something similar. Whenever you say a book title, you add “in your pants” to the end. (Hank explains and illustrates this in an early video here.)

As they point out, pretty much every book title out there is greatly improved by this treatment. Take, for example, the following suggestions:

  • The Dark is Rising in your pants.
  • Eats, Shoots, and Leaves in your pants.
  • College Algebra in your pants.
  • Ramona Quimby, Age 8, in your pants.

Okay, so that’s actually entirely disturbing.

So what are you reading right now in your pants? I’m working on Return to Treasure Island and the Search for Captain Kidd in your pants (he’s not in mine, I promise) and This is Your Brain on Music: The Science of a Human Obsession in your pants.  🙂

  1. Those two are amazingly funny. Every video is good. I am reading Gifted, from Librarything’s Early Reviewers program and after that I can get back to Prep.

  2. I love Brotherhood 2.0, and like yours my husband pokes fun at me because of it.

I am reading A Fistful of Charms in your pants by Kim Harrison and The Blind Assassin in your pants by Margaret Atwood. Oh, and a non-fiction book about baseball in your pants but I can’t remember the author or title. Sorry.
